On the southern side of Ljubljana lies the Ljubljana Marshes, a 160-sq km natural marshland comprising marshes and peat bogs. Much of this area is flat, so as you drive through you won’t be able to miss the 384m-hill and its lone church glistening in the sunlight. This is the 16th century Christian church dedicated to Saint Anna, and more importantly, a great place from which to photograph the mountains of Slovenia.

In my video, I use the Benro 34clv levelling tripod to ensure all frames are perfectly level as you pan across the scene. In addition to this, you will also see how I use the Shutter remote control app to help compose the images and trigger each shot without having the touch the camera at all.

I’ve been using a great app called Shutter for a couple of years now, ever since I got my new Canon R5. It’s an iOS app that you can use on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. I use it on my iPhone 15 pro max. It’s an app that can remotely control your camera, a bit like a wireless shutter release. However, this app does so much more that just allow you to trigger the shutter.

There are people out there who argue that camera filters are no longer necessary in the age of digital photography. However, there are some which cannot be simulated such as a polariser, and an ND. The fact is there are numerous occasions when a camera filter can and should be used.

In this tripod review, I show you why I love the Benro Tortoise 34CLV Levelling Tripod that I got just over a year ago, and what I find it most useful for.

I thought I would start the new year with a review of my favourite photoshoots throughout 2024. While I got some good stuff every month, I have focused on the months that produced some of my best and favourite photographic moments.
