Best time to photograph Saint Micheal’s Church on the Marsh

There are hundreds of churches scattered across Slovenia, but none as interesting and unique as the Church of Saint Michael on the Ljubljana Marshes.

Best view of the Ljubljana Marshes

The Ljubljana Marshes is a great photography location, and the best view of it is from the hilltop church of Saint Anne. Here I give you some tips and info.

View of the church of Sveti Josef (Saint Joseph) and the church of Saint Anna (Sveta Ana). Both churches are perched upon an exposed hill overlooking the Ljubljansko Barje (Ljubljana moors) near the village of Preserje.

Finding a new perspective

At first I was annoyed when the usual road to Sveta Ana church was closed and I was diverted through the village of Kamnik pod Krimom. But when I chanced upon this viewpoint showing both these churches in an adjacent setting, I forgave them. It just goes to show how driving around can reveal all sorts of different perspectives.
