Capturing Epic Panoramic Photos | Complete Photography Tutorial

In my latest YouTube video, I show you how to create a stitched panorama photo, filmed at Jamnik Church in Slovenia, a great location for panos.

In my tutorial, I use the Benro 34clv levelling tripod to ensure all frames are perfectly level as you pan across the scene. In addition to this, you will also see how I use the Shutter remote control app to help compose the images and trigger each shot without having the touch the camera at all.

Join me as I demonstrate how to master the art of panoramic photography, at one of Slovenia’s most breathtaking locations – the famous Jamnik Church with its incredible mountain backdrop!

Slovenia's Most Photogenic Church

High on the Jelovica Plateau, this small white church emerges from rolling green hills like something from a fairy tale. The Church of Saints Primus and Felician in Jamnik village transforms what would otherwise be an unremarkable little hilltop village into one of Slovenia’s most captivating destinations. With the dramatic Kamnik Alps and Storžič Mountain rising in the background, this sacred site offers photographers and visitors an unforgettable alpine panorama.

Why Jamnik Church Captivates Every Visitor

This humble church has earned its reputation as Slovenia’s most photographed landmark through sheer natural beauty. Standing at 831 metres above sea level, the structure occupies a commanding position on an isolated hilltop, surrounded by dense forests that give way to sweeping pastoral meadows. The location feels both intimate and infinite – close enough to touch, yet opening onto views that stretch across two major mountain ranges.

From this elevated position, you get a view of the Ljubljana Basin spreading southward, while the Kamnik Alps dominate the eastern horizon. To the north, the Karavanke range marks Slovenia’s border with Austria. The setting exemplifies why medieval builders chose such dramatic locations for their places of worship—the natural grandeur inspires contemplation and wonder in believers and sceptics alike.

Perfect Conditions for Photography

The church’s appeal extends well beyond daylight hours. Like many Slovenian religious sites, Jamnik Church is illuminated at night. This lighting makes the location particularly rewarding during early golden hour and blue hour photography sessions.

Morning visits sometimes reveal the church floating above layers of valley mist, creating an ethereal atmosphere that seems to lift the building above earthly concerns. These misty conditions, combined with the dramatic mountain backdrop, produce some of the most compelling landscape photography opportunities in Central Europe.
