I had been watching the weather forecast and Lake Jasna on the webcam most of the week only see clear blue skies. But finally on Friday the weather began to change. A front was moving in from the west bring more cloud. The forecast showed cloud building more towards sunset, so I hoped for some great sunset colours.
Alas, the cloud cover at that point was too thick. However, I did get there early enough to capture some great broken cloud over the Julian Alps here. It was a far cry from my last trip here when the whole lake was frozen and the landscape completely covered in snow.
I used a Kase Filters 10 stop ND filter here to get a 60 second exposure so I could really draw out the drama that was unfolding over the mountain peaks.
